Water Purification

The Paraguay River is the largest freshwater river system in the region. However, due to contamination from many waterborne diseases, it is not a suitable drinking source. HMO would like to assist the local population in improving the water supply and preventing unnecessary illnesses or death.

There are many water filtration systems available today. HMO is currently researching suitable systems that can be built inexpensively (using local materials and labour), but that are also functional and easily maintained by the local population.
